Back when I was working at Sacks/Fuller in Los Angeles, I got the chance to work on the HoneyBaked Ham Co., and created probably my most powerful tagline so far, “Now everyday can taste like Christmas.”
Up until this point, The HoneyBaked Ham Co. had been basically reserved for the holidays. But as HoneyBaked introduced smaller hams, varied side dishes and a line of sandwiches, now you could actually enjoy that great taste of HoneyBaked everyday.
Along with creating that tagline, I also wanted to build on the feeling that was captured in the work of Norman Rockwell and his creation of “Freedom from Want” and how this one painting summed up the traditional, American holiday supper. Working with world renowned painter, Robert Tanenbaum we recreated the Rockwell painting and updated it’s content using more contemporary models and dress as well as introducing the whole line of HoneyBaked products seamlessly into the painting.
These illustrations became the basis for HoneyBaked Ham’s in-store graphics update and was also used in their newspaper advertising and FSI/brochures.
Along with the in-store images we also created an inexpensive, newspaper-based catalog that carried the traditional holiday product line at HoneyBaked as well as the new products that had just been introduced.
